![]() ![]() Long copied posts from the site added as much value as my "noise". The "noise" is the frustration of you just not admitting you don't know. The pressing time is still the thing consistent with both packages. How you are interpreting this as "DO THEY PRESS LESS TO SPEED UP THE PROCESS" misses everything else. One is a full service - one if a lite service. You telling me I am drinking, not understanding context, and all that other noise still misses the point. ![]() And that is the big difference in approach. The only thing we can tell from the marketing right now is one has more services than the other. Instead there were long posts with no answers. The answer from the boardies who posted here should have been "I don't know" or simply no post. Nick gave him the answer readily available on the web site the OP had visited. He asked a question - we gave him the answer we could. All you are doing is adding more noise to either pick a fight or waste time. I am giving him the main points that CCS states are the difference between the services. The OP is not asking you to interpret the CCS web site. So QuickPress will not allow for screening (which adds time to have someone look your book over), does not appear to include restoration removal, and supposedly eliminates the need for the Fast Track service. Modern (1975-Date), Screening ($5 min), Pressing (Est turnaround: 4-6 weeks) $12, Restoration Removal (Est turnaround: 4-6 weeks) $12, Fast Track (Est turnaround: 2-3 weeks) $6. value, Pressing (Est turnaround: 1-2 weeks) $8 per book - 20 book minimum, Dry cleaning is included in the QuickPress service. įrom the descriptions given (using the service recently will be the experienced opinion - and I have not), there are minimums required in order to hit the QuickPress rate. I guess I"ll get them back sometime next year. But for these moderns I'll do normal track and save the $10 grading per book, and that will pay for the pressing. I typically like CGC fast track as I'm too old for delayed gratification. I'm thinking about this because their quickservice is $8 per book, whereas their normal service at the level I was at was like $35, which is way too expensive for the books I'm thinking about. For me I like the convenience of having the books go direclty to CGC after pressing, makes it easy. That doesn't really concern me, or more accurately I'll accept just like I've accepted other controversies about grading (like how can you tell the diff between 9.8 and 9.9 and 10?). I hear the controversy about the same company owning grading and pressing. They have some flaws, and with pressing hoping they can get to the promised land (for me on these books, 9.8s). I'm thinking about pressing some moderns that are cheapo but I like the covers, and then having them go directly to grading. ![]() It's cheap enough that I'll submit some books and report back. Wish I could help ya but I only trust Joey with my books. I was hoping someone who has used the service can give some input. I get that, but the key is what "steamlining" means. ![]() So what CCS is doing with QuickPress is streamlining what services are included to speed up the turnaround process. Modern (1975-Date), Screening ($5 min), Pressing (Est turnaround: 4-6 weeks) $12, Restoration Removal (Est turnaround: 4-6 weeks) $12, Fast Track (Est turnaround: 2-3 weeks) $6 It does if you take one step back on the site and check the regular fees under the Services & Fees tab. I also would like to know the difference and quoting the site's official definition does nothing to explain. As a result, please take care not to submit books with low page quality or weak staple areas. value, $15 per book (20 book minimum)ĬCS does not offer its Screening service for QuickPress. QuickPress Modern (1975–Date) $200 max. Dry cleaning is included in the QuickPress service.ĬCS offers two QuickPress tiers (est. For certain books, QuickPress can dramatically improve the appearance, removing large bends and dents, waviness and spine rolls. QuickPress is a very fast and inexpensive alternative to our multi-step standard Pressing service. Does anyone know the difference between QuickPress and the CCS regular press service? I'm thinking about QuickPress since it is the right price, but unclear how much less it is relative to the normal press service. ![]()
